The Dreamrider program is a scholarship program providing secondary school funding for young people in Malawi. We are currently sponsoring 42 young people spread out among 16 different secondary school institutions in the southern region of Malawi. It is exciting to follow the progress of each learner. Tatenda Dzimbiri, a graduate of Iris Africa Childrens Homes, is working to coordinate this program. Tatenda graduated from Secondary school last year, and is now gaining some work experience while he awaits admission into college. Tatenda is interested in becoming a social welfare officer, so serving as Dreamrider coordinator is perfect exposure for him. He is excellent at follow-up with the students encouraging them towards good performance at school, as well as spurring them on in their Christian faith. Several of our Dreamrider scholars are in first place academic standing in their respective institutions. This gives us excitement and much hope.
In March 2017, Empower Global supported a delegate from Iris Africa Malawi to visit Charles Mully Family ministry in Kenya.
