Training in trades

The goal of trades skills training is to train, coach and mentor basic skills to enable those in need to create an income generating activity with their newly acquired skill. Those with an entrepreneurial aptitude will be coached and mentored to establish their own small business. Others will be coached as they apply for jobs in the community. 

Specific skills training to be provided will be based on the level of interest in the community for a particular skill and the availability of instructors –

1. Automotive repair and vehicle maintenance. This training will be provided by partnering with another organization

2. Welding skills 

3. Masonry skills

4. Carpentry: Woodworking, furniture making, etc.

5. Electrical skills

6. Plumbing Skills

7. Other skills as the need arises
