Haiti - COVID-19 Health Guidance 

When a pandemic like Coronavirus strikes, the most vulnerable are the poor in developing countries like Haiti. Health authorities have a difficult time disseminating critical health information as many households have limited access to either radios or television. In addition, sanitation and hygiene standards are typically very low as many households have only limited access to clean water and soap. 

In these circumstances, our Healthcare Clinic in Haiti is being proactive in advising the communities in which we operate on essential health information regarding the Coronavirus. Our sources for obtaining and disseminating proper health guidance materials is the US Center for Disease Control (cdc.gov) and the Hesperian Health Guides (see photos). 

Our Haiti Clinic is also in discussions with our sewing school to make face masks to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus by civilians. And for greater clarity, these will not be for use by Hospitals or Clinics. The CDC has excellent guidance material on making masks (for the general public) so we are well positioned to make a relatively high quality product for civilian use.
