Kurt founded Empower Global to fulfill his lifelong passion to serve the destitute poor in the developing world. He is a former Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) where he served as a partner for over 20 years.
He was also the Canadian Leader for PwC's Transaction Services Group (TSG) focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions. The TSG worked with large companies both nationally and internationally assisting them with their acquisitions and divestitures.
The multi-jurisdiction nature of Kurt's work required him to travel extensively around the globe assisting clients. He has led major corporate transactions in Canada, USA, and Europe - and globally has worked in London, Zurich, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Stockholm, Bermuda, as well as projects throughout India, Australia and South America.
Kurt's credentials include: A degree in business - B Comm (honors); A Chartered Professional Accountant designation (aka Chartered Accountant) and is a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D). He and his wife Margaret have three married daughters and eight grandchildren.
Joanna provides leadership for all in office functions including donor communications and support. She also leads the B the Hope for Haiti program in Ouanaminthe, Haiti.
Joanna has contributed 1000's of hours as a community volunteer and is the recipient of the Aldershot Honour Roll for outstanding service.
Joanna has participated in humanitarian work in several Carribbean countries and as such has a passion for serving the poor. She is married and has 4 daughters.
